Information
The team at Aviator is a member of the Denver Metro League Swimming Association,
which has six clubs in the Denver area, including Stapleton, Skyline, Crestmoor,
Eastmoor, Colorado Athletic Club at Monaco, and Virginia Vale.
Swimmers at Aviator will have dual meets against these teams and will
compete against more summer club teams statewide in other meets. All swimmers that register for the Metro League will be expected to
compete in a minimum of 3 meets (including two away meets). Metro swimmers 9&Up
can swim in up to 3 individual events and 2 relays. Those 8&Under typically swim
2 individuals and 1 relay.
Regular season dual meets are held mostly on Fridays with one on a Tuesday.
Throughout the summer, this team also participates in four other larger meets:
the League Relay Meet, the League Meets, the Ken Caryl Invitational, and the
State Summer Club Championships. The Metro League season will be extended
through the last weekend in July for those swimmers that qualify for the
Colorado State Championship Meet. Team events will run through the first week of
August. The meet/event schedule for 2013 is listed below. Swimmers only need to
make 1 qualifying time to swim in the Ken Caryl Invite, A-League Meet, and State
Meet. Please plan to participate in the A & B-League meets and the State Meet.
The B-League meet acts as both an end of the year meet and a last chance meet to
qualify for the A-League meet. A swimmer can qualify for the A-League Meet in
events they swim at the B-League Meet and a swimmer can also qualify for the
State Meet in events they swim at the A-League Meet. State Championship Meet
costs will be picked up by the MCA. It is an honor for swimmers to participate
in all of our meets, including the A & B-League Meets and the State Meet. If a
swimmer works hard all summer to qualify, please try to make sure they have the
opportunity to swim in these meets.
